Dale Lionel Smith has been a criminal defense lawyer for almost 20 years. Upon completion of a judicial clerkship, he embarked on a career in criminal law. He has practiced law in federal courts throughout the United States, including the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico and has appeared on behalf of clients in several state courts including New York, California and Florida. He has represented clients in trial and appellate courts in thousands of cases ranging from securities fraud to murder. His extensive trial experience includes homicides, drug offenses, racketeering (RICO) offenses, conspiracies, mail frauds, bank frauds, tax evasions and other complex white-collar crimes.

     Mr. Smith has obtained acquittals in more than 80 % of the cases he has tried since establishing his firm. The vast majority of these cases were tried in the federal courts against Assistant U.S. Attorneys of the Department of Justice.

     He received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from American University in Washington, DC and a law degree from Temple University Law School in Philadelphia.

     He is a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, New York Criminal Bar Association, American Bar Association and Virgin Islands Bar Association.

     Mr. Smith is admitted to practice law in New York, California, the United States Virgin Islands and Pennsylvania. In addition, he is duly admitted and qualified as an Attorney and Counsellor of the Supreme Court of the United States.
